Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone has had any experience with fork braces? What brands are recommended and what brands are to steer away from?
thanks

After I did my caliper upgrade I was able to punt harder and so experienced the dreaded fork flex under hard brakes.
I fitted a coerce fork brace and to date it has been brilliant.
In actual fact it was so good it made the ass end feel shithouse.
The fitting of the coerce brace lead me to doing the braced swinger mod because the front felt so good, and the back so bad.
Only once or twice have I felt the slightest amount of flex, and that has been at mental speeds!!
Some would argue that USD is the way to go and yes I will eventually go down that road , however it will be more for show as I am more than happy with the brace and fork mods that I have done.
You can see the brace, CBR 600 F4i calipers and braided lines in this pic

Looks great mate...adds a bit of agro to the front end....so do you recommend doing this without the swing arm bracing or not?

For me it sorted one problem, but contributed to another.
Better with than without though.

No need to remove forks or fender. Requires some care to fit though. Quality of the Coerce is tops! Got mine from flea bay. I also have there front sprocket guard and it is a quality bit as well.

The coerce sprocket cover is easy to fit and very lightweight.
I got it from fleabay.
Don't see them too often.
Funnily enough lube does not go all over the place either and I like the look.
It's subtle bling !
Only took 10 mins to fit, but you have to be careful with the spacers or you will have no clutch.

just a quick question ken. did you just polish the engine cover or has it been chromed? I didn't think magnesium polished up that good. looks trick. for those who know me I l've polishing bits as it really compliments the matte black paint of my bike

N.Z, the rearsets are Dan Moto, I've modded them a bit though. Azza, polished the cases myself while waiting on some machining work when I did a heap of mods to the engine. Took ages to do but I like the result.

We've got the Coerce on the wifes bike. Same findings as above. Holds a better line under hard breaking and also seems to hold a better line on high speed knee-down corners too :-) ....from what I remember.

ken there is nothing more than id like to do right now is show off a labor of love, my pride and joy "Betty" but I don't know how to reduce the size of my pics of her to come under the 1mb limit. VTRSTOMER will vouch for the pristine condition she's in. As well agree with every mod that ive meticulously done to her, only adding to the overall look and enhancements that each supersedes, as he has now started following suit with some of them but I know pictures paint a thousand words and this is just blah blah blah lol

John my old f/end had beefed up forks ,valves,(superbrace) forkbrace ie there very shinny and scotts dampner Had taken off the dampner, and had a run up in the twisties ,and found very marginal difference. The brace just stops your forks from flexing I would spend my money on the vavles, springs and brace, these three just a bit dearer than the dampner alone. Coerce, superbrace forkbrace dosent really matter, super brace dearer thou.

I had the Coerce brace on my bike. I would say it was one of the best things I ever fitted , as I could feel the difference in the way the bike felt going around corners , and gave me more confidence in the front end of the bike. They are simple to fit (allen key headed bolts), unobtrusive and work - what more do you need! As for making one , unless you have access to a milling machine , and a lump of proper grade alloy , and machining skills , it would be far easier to stump up the 140 or so bucks for the already made one , and have it at your door in a couple of days. They also have some plastic rings that fit around the fork so as not to damage them , bit hard to make them I would think. Good luck with it.

Yeah your lucky to have mates like that in the industry but for me it might or will be a case of paying out the dollars. $140' for the want of a better ride is well worth it I think.
