Well, Ive gone & done it...laid down my deposit for a new Ohlins shock from Suspensionsrus in Melbourne. I had the sh*ts that I missed the ebay auction so I contacted Izzy at the above store for a quote...[gulp].. $1590.00.... Oh well here goes, i'll keep you updated

Ohlins are the best, but before you blow your dough, have you thought about getting your old shock upgraded/ rebuilt by someone like Terry Hay or Radars
You can get a new gold valves and a new spring to suit your weight for about a 1/3 of the cost, and spent the rest of your money on other cravings

Frank Pons did my forks for me with Gold Valves etc...& I have had Biketec do my shock on other bikes i've owned.. The problem is the shock on the Firestorm is bloody basic to begin with..what I want is both compression & rebound dampening, which I can't get from a simple valve replacement in the stockie...the Ohlins also come with a seperate hydralic ride height adjuster in addition to the above damping options...
