Anyone know where the rev limiter is? The redline on the tacho on my 03 is 9500rpm... I have hit the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd at around 10,000rpm. It has only happened a couple of times, normaly if I am doing something silly ;D

vtr1000fv 1997 yellow carbs bored from 49 to 52mm heads scimmed 15 thou ignition advanced 1.89 deg hot spark conversion one off exhaust k&n filter rejetted on dyno manual cct's( made by me) now gives 124bhp and a wopping 138ftlbs torque rear sub frame modified for pipe all electrics units moved and rewired stealth discs front rear goodridge pipes geomics altered ( 6mm spacer on rear shock mounting) shod her in michelins pilot roads handles like a dream goes like stink just awaiting new shed so i can respray her spaces.msn.com/firestormriders/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1Wow. I know it's an old post but these are huge figures. Did anyone else follow and get the same output. Does it even stack up?

I'm not saying it can't be done but generally you don't see over 110rwhp without cams and or pistons. I guess the skimmed heads give the extra compression like hi comp pistons but that figure is still very high. There are so many factors but generally stockers seem to get mid 90's and pipes filter and jetting get you to mid 100's. My old yellow one was 105. It has Unifilter, custom pipes and jetting. I think its high under tail pipes robbed a bit. Shorter pipes may have gained a little more. Saz, Fathead and the rest of our Newy crew had very similar outputs give or take a hp.
