A quick search on Bikesales reveled that of the bikes for sale at the moment the highest mileage VTR1000F is a black one from QLD with 120,000km and the lowest, also black and from QLD is just a fraction over 3000km. Makes you wonder how do you own a bike for 6 years and only do 3000km? i have a 76 xs500 with 10,000 km on it my storm is an 01 with 56,0000 on it go figure

Must have bought it behind the missus back and kept it at a mates place, but each time he went around to grab it and go for a ride, had to say hello and have a few beers and mostly ended up having too many - to ride.

Mine's a '97 with 165, 197kms on the clock (elsewhere on this forum, I've said it had 170, 000, just checked, and it's only 165 000)
Hasn't had anything apart from normal servicing in the 20,000 ks I've done on it. There's a pic on the 'perfect storm' board.
Keen to rebuild the motor anyhow, want to bore it out a bit, lighten the flywheel, port and polish the heads, new intake, just saving up the bucks...

A mate of mine got about 150,000 from his and it was still going strong but he decided time for a change and got a cruiser Needless to say he now very much regrets that decision and after riding my storm the other day is giving seriouos thought to getting another one! ;D

Just cracked 127,000km the other day. Got a bit of a vibration accelerating through 3000rpm but nothing dramatic. New tensioners in the post as we speak. I've thought about changing/upgrading but what for? Ultimately, bang for buck value there is nothing else out there that interests me.
