I thought it would be a cool idea to see who has done the most riding on their storm? It's a honda so of course it's going to do many many kms but how many have people done on theirs. Mine is just a spring chicken at 35,000, I'm betting that there are some out there who have done 250,000 - 300,000. How many has yours done and what troubles have you had along the way?

Gday mate, l own a 97 model had it for bout 2and half years, had 85,000 on it, currently has 105,000 haven't really had to many dramas with it,apart from a clutch prob [judder spring] witch was an easy fix,lm guessing theres a few more storms out there with higher k's

Mine has only done about 80'000. I did see a couple of VTR's when I was looking to buy mine with 150'000 and 200'000 on them.

HI, I have a 2001 with 46k on it and i have an awful rattling noise coming from the engine as i come of the power. Has anyone got any thoughts on what this may be? Cheers, Casper Cam/Timing chains would be my guess Before you check your chains, check your Tensioners as they Are the most common reason for te noise & if they are not replaced can cause thousands of dollars damage Check in the archives for info on whether or not you want Manual CCT,s or standard factory 1,s I have Manual 1,s on mine & love them The only thing with Manual 1,s is occansionally they with need to be ajusted as the tension is on the chain all the time, there is no give like in the standard 1,s (as they are spring loaded) to accomadate for engine revs going up & down But the up side is you wont have any more trouble with the engine rattle from standard 1,s ever again as you will have to replace standard 1,s again sometime in the future as they will fail again. Hers a link to 1 of the threads on 1 brand that you can get & they are good value. ozfirestorm.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tech&action=display&thread=12682

Not really much of a comparison compared to some of you guys, but mine had 38K on it when I bought it in January 2010. I've done 12K on it since and about to go in for its 48K service. Looking at the replies I should have many Km's to go !.

ok, so mine is barely run in as a '05 model with 11,857 on the clock, but my '89 CBR250R is a different story.
around 110,000 on the clock and still going very strong. It's had a very hard life with a fair bit or racing thrown in (read that as spent a lot of time up near red-line and regularly bounced off the limiter) and never had any servicing except for carbs being cleaned and oil & filters. Was even a test vehicle for a fuel injection system at one stage which put it into hydraulic lock occassionally and excessively lean at other times.
Honda engines rock!

Recently one of the sales guys at the local Honda Dealership told me that the Owner has a pristine storm with "only a few hundred K's on the clock" says something about the bike I think.

I just cracked 145,000 and aside from the odd minor issue with the state of tune due to being left to collect dust for weeks, no hassles.
Yeah I love my Honda too.

1999 75,000k third owner I have had it since 2009,new regulator as the old one had a melt down and new cct's as it sounded like a ducati(dry clutch rattle ) other than that regular servicing and cannot fault it and most of my riding is fairly spirited 2up riding

My VTR only has 42,000. I still own my first bike I bought as a learner ( my girl now rides it) it's a NSR 150. Single cylinder 2 stroke in Repsol colours. it now has over 60,000 on the clock, and has only had the rings changed once!
Honda knows how to make them last!!

I have had my storm from new Dec 1997. 80'000 + km's. Only small dramas along the way, Voltage reg went at 20'000 km, have changed battery twice, Cam chain tensioners - Front one went early at around 25'000 kms then changed both tensioners the other week as the rattle had come back but still found it was the front tenioner which had failed again. But maybe my speedo is out not sure yet. The bike doesn't miss a beat and I still love riding it.

My 98' storm had 79,000 when I passed it on to my daughter and my 06' had 42000 when i sold it. I've been on the dark side for a while but I reckon I could be a Judis rising! I seem to recollect that some members here have had storms up to 180-200,000k. Rog.

Well folks it looks like Cheekybugger is the winner at this stage...
Pretty ashamed to say that I have only put 8000km on mine since I stared this thread over a year ago.
I'm hoping to help next years total along a little with a ride from Orange NSW to the Great Ocean Road and back again via the Snowies and the Black Spur in January. About a 3000km round trip.

A quick search on Bikesales reveled that of the bikes for sale at the moment the highest mileage VTR1000F is a black one from QLD with 120,000km and the lowest, also black and from QLD is just a fraction over 3000km.
Makes you wonder how do you own a bike for 6 years and only do 3000km?
