RedTumble, you cannot be serious... I've heard of milking life for all its worth, but that tyre is something else, Looks like you were riding on something other than tread compound for sometime..... Is that why there's a guardrail with your name/DNA on it? 11/10 for guts though. Maybe we should have a section for "most munted tyres" but I think we already have our winner there.

Actually Incy takes that one. On a trip down the Snowys, we stopped for fuel and I noticed he had a bubble of the soft rubber liner coming through the tyre. Looked a bit like an inner tube poking through.

I picked up my 'Blade just before Xmas, and on christmas day, rode it from Forster-Sydney in the morning, and then after lunch, followed the coast down to Batemans bay and came back up the Clyde to Canberra. and afterwards, it had canvas showing in the center of the tyre, about half of the circumference of the tyre and an inch wide. and the edge of the tyre was trying to come away from the sidewall on one of the sides... man I wish i took a picture of it... i trailered it to the mechanics once i got home and saw it! haha

I have never let my tyres get that bad or anywhere near that bad I don't want to have a lose. When the tyre gets a couple of mm off the wear marks, I get new tyres I Like to know that if I'm pushing hard she's gonna hang on. As I can't help myself every time I get on the thing I do ride it hard

I must confess i did something similar once when I took a mechanic out of town to check out a car for me... he'd been dying to see what my GSXR1100 could do and i didn't want to disapoint him. I nearly had a heart attack when I parked the bike in the shed and saw the white centre line that wasn't there that morning. Especially after a two up run at speeds in excess of 220. Lesson Learned. Note to self and all others that will listen, Once you run out of tread, you are probably out of Compound. The carcass is not made for grip and it wears rapidly.

I've only got reasonably fresh tyres to post. Power Pure on the SP1, just a couple of Jamberoo runs on it. Keliy's Bridgestone 016 The Pirelli Angel on the Storm (unregistered now as I'm not commuting) I have all the parts ready to put an SP2/954 front end on it.

BT54, believe it or not, this tyre has 8,000km on it - almost all of it in the twisties... It grips well, inspires confidence and bloody well will not wear out... I don't ride at 10/10 much these days but I don't baby it either...

Very quick to warm up and stick like shi t to a blanket. Like yours, they scrub very evenly. Don't know how they would last out on the road though.

Well here are my enormous chicken strips from a year and a half ago when I started riding the Strom: Now things are a little better down to less than 10mm each side. No special riding revelation, just slowly gaining confidence I guess. You can still see a small lighter grey strip on each edge. Most visible on right side. John
