C'mon guys, lets see eachothers' Chicken Strips....a date stamp may be appropriate too,and maybe a measurement if possible. road vs track can give much better results too so if you did it on the track, please fess up. I'll try to get my pic tonight/tomorrow.

madadz you beat me to it... mine looks identical to hondatwo's. cbr1000rr, pirelli corsa III 190/50 i find the corsa III has a very rounded profile, i got right to the edge on the michelin i used to have, but not so much on the pirelli, even though it grips better. win-win really, except for bragging haha

Bit blurry but basically 0mm The dark stripe on the rear is from the hugger rubbing. When 2 up, it touches the shock spring and gets pushed back onto the tyre

I don't have chicken strips. They are much too big to be called chicken strips. More like turkey strips.

I don't have any recent ones. This is one from QLD Raceway with old Bridgstone sports touring tyres on.

A couple of more. This time road only. This was my old Diablo, I changed it around xmas time. It was only used for commuting to work. This one is the new pilot pure I replaced the diablo with. This pic was after its initial scrub in ride up Mount Mee (it still had the rubber nipples on the tyre). It was a wet ride, so nothing too adventurous. Thoughtful people (Michelin), notice the side wear indicators.

Here's mine, The last few rides have been a bit ordinary as my Pilot Road1 is getting a bit Old, Slippery and Knackered, (not unlike my good self). This shot was taken at work today after a "reasonable commute". Stay Tuned for a Pilot Power coming soon. Well I went for a Pure instead, (see Tyres post) Chicken Strips? one, it goes all the way across the Tyre, Too chicken to take it out in the rain with the mould release compound still on it..... ...Too chicken to ride in the rain, end of story..

No photo's , I'm too chicken Interesting though , that everybody's experience is so different. I cannot for the life of me , get completely to the edge of the PR2 on the rear of mine. The rhs has about 25mm to go , and the left has about 10mm. Yet I had some Dunlops on my old Suzuki that looked all balled up like the one's in Colinz photo. I was going up Barrengarry mtn (Kangaroo Valley area) yesterday , and went around two uphill tight corners , left then right. Did them well enough to be pleased with my progress , but I remember following Eric (Assassin) up there a year ago , and he scraped his pegs around those same corners , I was mesmerised by the sight of the lines he was leaving on the road surface with the bank angle sensors ;D. I was right behind him and nothing touched down Riding styles dictate wear and tear as much as tyre choice methinks. Graham

cornering technique plays a big role. the guy i do most of my riding with is on a 2010 gsx-r 750, and when we ride we do so at very similar speeds. we'll both take the same line through a corner, and he won't get any closer or further away from me (so we're going the same speed), but he'll be leaning over alot more than i am, to achieve the same tightness of cornering. I think its because i can get off the bike more easily, and it's more effective. i'm 6'2", he's about 5'7". i've got the pirelli corsa III rear, he's got a BT016 for memory. I've never touched a peg on the CBR, i did a couple times on the VTR, but only on tight uphill corners

I don't tend to get off the bike much, as it just doesn't work with my rooted back. I do get my upper body down and over a bit, but as far as shifting my arse off the seat and hanging off, no. As an example (on Bridgstone BT020, absolutely hated them).

that's EXACTLY the same position this mate uses. leans forwards, drops the shoulder, and a little bit of arse movement but not much. he even twists his outside foot around the same. very funny. it's almost like a 125cc GP style. all about the aerodynamics... you can use that excuse next time if ya like Col

Bridgestone 016's. First ride up the Gillies range Hi Jay my 016 rear looked like that after Gillies trip in November 09, I thought it was because I was carrying pillion and our gear on Busa and it was stinking hot but maybe they are just too soft. They certainly hang on well but under 3000k was a bit much 700 of that was just getting there..
