Well most of my pain is now over I hope. No point thinkning about what has been lost, doesn't do any good. Now I need to find a job of some sort, and get on with life. BUT. Until I get a job things are a bit ordinary. I have received my bike rego, which I have to pay. Letting it run out is a pain when it comes to re-register. I can pay them, so I have. But I cannot pay the insurance, which is due next week, so that will expire. No insurance - no riding. So after I have gotten over the worst of things and looking to get back normal, now I can't ride my bikes!!!!!! Oh well.

I have no idea where Russ is going with this, except for the fact that I am sure it is rude. I am betting the price might be too high, I am better off not riding for a bit!

Doing some training courses soon. The job I used to do is obsolete nowadays, at least in my area. So I am getting a few tickets and going to try for some mining jobs. It is one sector where they are looking for people.

Have you considered demolition work Shayne. A friend of mine does it and the pay seems dammed decent for having fun demolishing things

My daughter and son-in-law have just returned back to the Hunter Valley from Mt Isa where they were both working in the mining industry. Plenty of work there but the cost of living and accommodation is a bit high.

Yeah, there are a few options in mining that is why I am am trying there first. Plenty of work going, so you never know your luck.
Mt Isa was not my favourite place. I would not like to live there. Lots of mining jobs are fly in fly out, so I can return from camp on my time off at no cost.

Holly Shit... Just catching up on this thread. You didnt lose the shed did you??? Yes I did, but to my parents. They want to live here, so lucky for me the property stays in the family and I will have somewhere to live. One thing I did right I guess. We pulled the pin before we lost everything, so while I have lost all my assets, collectively we still have one property to live on.

At least you have your home Shayne I lost everything in the recession we had to have (according to Keating) in the late 80's so I feel your pain. but i started again and with 4 kids managed to get my own home again and now have a job paying 6 figures so sometimes these things can change both your circumstances and career path and things turn out good again and as I always say...a winner never quits and a quitter never wins. In regards to the mining jobs I have a few friends that have pursued them and they have all done well.
