Got my Xmas present yesterday. Found out I have a blown head gasket or cracked head in my 4wd. Hope its only a gasket. Not the end of the world, as I can do the work to fix it myself, but I could have done without it happening. Too mnay jobs to do already.
On the upside, now I need my bike for transport, so have started getting insurnace quotes for the VFR. So I will be on two wheels again. Just have to sort out the best insurance option. QBE don't seem too bad, and they will insure the VTR for whatever I want too, as long as I can supply photographs of it.

I went with Insure My Ride, under $350 for the year full comp Aww fark please dont post information like that cause it hurts deeply! I'm still with QBE because they have been the cheapest for me with $1100 for the the ZX-10R insured for $16,000 and exactly the same for the RC8. If i was paying half that for insurance I'd be happy but I'm not.

The R1 cost me $700 for $7000 with AAMI...The Dyna cost me $888 for $29000...go figure that out ...unless that is the Harley comes under tractor insurance

R1 would be much higher risk.
I will get some more quotes on Monday or Tuesday. Not too many to choose from so shouldn't take too long.

When you get your bike back on the road give me a yell. I'm back home now and on holidays until Feb.
If I had an expensive bike I would insure it, but the VTR owes me bugger all so it remains uninsured. My pathological hatred of the insurance industry helped make that decision too.

A ride sounds good Colin. Once I am mobile again we will have to tee something up. Was going to do the insurance today, but I had people distracting me from the task!!! Coupla days.......

It is a long time since we had a ride up this way Sean, possibly it was before you joined the forum. Once I have gotten the cobwebs out of the rider (bike should be ok ) we will have to organise something.
