I know we need it, and I would like it; but not this week. I bought a 3X3 garden shed the other day. I'm going to put it on a slab I laid when I installed my 5000ltr rainwater tank. The only problem is that I wasn't thinking of going quite as large with the shed, so I have to add about 1.2 meters to one side of the slab. I had three large cement pavers (900X600), so I thought I would just buy 3 more. So I bought them the other day, and also dug out all the grass where they are to be placed. Since then it has just rained. I got the shed panels all assembled yesterday in my carport, but now I'm at a standstill. The area where the pavers will be going is now a swimming pool, so it will take a while to dry out, even after the rain stops. It pisses me off because I really wanted to get my workshop sorted out. Oh well, that's life.

Last week was so hot the wind was like a blast furnace, now our yards are about to become swamps...
This rain is giving me the shits too...riding to and from work is akin to turning into a human green house, keeping the rain out is more than compensated by the level of perspiration induced inside the wet weather clothing while crawling along in traffic.

It might be raining, but it is still along way from being cold. I'm not a fan of commuting in the rain. I don't mind getting wet on the way home, but getting wet on the way in shits me, I'm always struggling for time in the mornings. My biggest worry is the amount of diesel that seems to get dropped on the roads around here, I don't know what is so hard about putting a cap back on a tank. The number of tradie type utes I see going around rounderbouts near my place with diesel sloshing out of the tanks is amazing. I followed a trail for about 500mtrs one day, right to the guys driveway.
Pete, the tank has been overflowing all day.

Am about to install a second one at my place Colin. I installed a 2000lt slimline out the back and am about to get a 5000lt round one for the front. Water prices have escalated here in NSW at a ridiculous rate and with having a pool I use every bit I collect...a good investment long term I think.

Yes, I got mine when we had water restrictions. For a while we weren't even allowed to wash our cars, let alone water the garden or fill up the pool. I mainly use it for the pool, although when I put the patio in last year I ran the gutter pipes into the pool too.

I was lucky. I was building a retaing wall on Saturday, and Sunday I went to visit family for the day. I rode over on the VTR, and when I arrived other poeple there said it was pouring as they drove in. The roud was dry for me the whole way. It rained there bit, but stopped before I left. Five minutes afetr I got home it started bucketing down, but I didn't see a drop of rain or a wet road. Gotta get lucky sometimes.
And now I am doing mechanical work, so the rain doesn't matter. Just lucky timing for once.

We have had a break in the rain this morning, so the paving is laid now. It was like working in a sauna though. I still can't put the shed up, as I want to paint the wall behind where it will be.

I am having similar problems Colin. Trying to build a 42 sqm back deck and i have only been able to get the bearers and joists down. I got up yesterday at 6am and the sun was shining, out i go and start running all my cable for the power points. And down it came I realy hope it goes away, as i would love to get the flooring down this week. Along with buying a slow combustion heater in November and still havent got it installed. As the installers are flat out catching up with the back log of work. I HATE RAIN

I finally got the shed up, just finished sealing it yesterday.
It's just started pissing down here again, thankfully it waited till I did the mowing.

It's bucketing down here, we are copping it!!!
But, in the shed it has not mattered much so far. Lots of work on the car still to go, will keep me out of trouble for a while.

Im on a ship on the Brisbane river (not the leaky one) trying to discharge 20,000t of cement, which obviously cant be done in the rain. We started monday morning, it's now tuesday evening and we've only done about 2,500t. It normally takes about two and a half days to complete, then we head home again. Im going to be here a while I guess! Normally I stay in a motel in town, but im stuck on board for this one, dammit! Before you tell me im lucky to be getting the extra hours, im on salary. So the less time I spend at work, the better for me.
RAIN, GO AWAY!!!!

They have been evacuating houses around nearby suburbs to us. The water was ankle deep in my carport earlier tonight, but that was only because it was coming down faster than it could run of the block.

It is odd. We have had only a few hot days, and then it was more humidity than actual heat.

We have those frogs by the hundreds here & man are they noisy As soon as the rain stops at night they start & go all night It is a strange country I heard on sunrise this morning that Perth was getting 40 deg, I cant remember how many days in a row they said it had been now But yes the sun came out here for about an hour today & the humidity was incredible

Same here in almighty Penrith. Not that hot around 30C but the humidity is relentless! Remember, it's climate change and we are running out of water on the East Coast.

Yeh make sure you have ya tank full before the rain stops. As once it stops, there will be water shortages along the east coast. Thank god we have a desal plant

Water can't be that good for you anyway. Look what it does to the bottom of boats. Drink more beer! Sorry, I should be taking this more seriously. But if its going to poor down on the east coast, Jan/Feb is when it's going to do it. Rog
