Hi guys , there's a guy up here on the Sunshine Coast in Qld by the name of Jamie Lord , he's had some bad luck lately , more than anyone would want in a lifetime , firstly he's a fellow bike rider who's wife died of cancer in her 30's and 6 months later while riding his bike Jamie had an accident and became whats called a ventilated quadraplegic , which basically means hes on a ventilator and cant move from the neck down and requires 24 hour care .
He also has a 4 yo daughter Isabella to look after , he was riding alone and your not covered by any third party insurance etc under those circumstances , so he's in need of some help , what we are trying to organise in October on Saturday the 13th is a charity ride for him , trying to get up to 200 bikes involved and would be leaving from Dayboro showgrounds travel over Mt Mee as a group and will finish at the Ettamogah pub where we will present his mother and brother with a cheque for whatever money we have raised .
Saturday 13th October 2012, keep the date.
Starting at Dayboro showgrounds gates open at 7am where breakfast will be available
Finishing at the Ettamogah pub live entertainment for the afternoon.
Registrations will be online once the website is set up (beginning of August).
Entry fee of $10.00 per bike, you must PRE-REGISTER, no registrations on the day.
Each registration will receive a pack, with relevant forms and a book of 20 raffle tickets at $5ea. Each person who registers a bike is asked to sell the book of raffle tickets to family, friends, work mates, neighbours, your sporting group or anyone else you know. This will help us reach the $20,000 mark.
Some of the prizes available to win are:
2x Family passes to Aussie World
2x Pairs of Kevlar Jeans from Shark Leathers
$500 worth of Rev'it gear, Jacket and Pants from Coastline BMW
2 nights accom at Rumba Resort Caloundra
2 nights accom at Hunchy Hideaway Hunchy
Australia Zoo Voucher
Dinner for 2 at Clovelly Estate Montville
90 piece tool set from Total Tools
There are still more to come and I will update as they come in.
If you would like more info you can email Michelle at, rideforjamielord@gmail.com or leave a pm on this site.
I realise not everyone can participate in the ride so If your an interstater or cant make it on the day and want to help out you could also just make a donation which would be greatly appreciated by Jamie and his family , message me here for more details if you want to help out or if your on facebook have a look at the page there , cheers Mark .
