As part of the build of my new Firestorm I replaced the coils with CBR1000RR coil sticks. I bought these new as I didn't want to bother with something second hand in this case. The part number for the coil stick's are Denso 129700-4840-J0484. I didn't buy the cable for them as the set is for 4 sticks and around $120. I just re-connected the original connectors for the bike wiring connector and found the custom connector for the stick ends. These are available from www.corsa-technic.com and the item that you want is: C2AS 2-way receptacle kit. They are only a couple of bucks each, I bought 6 and total cost including shipping was about $20 all up. Value. These connectors look scary but are a piece of piss to fit. As I said, I bought 6 and so I have 4 spares so if interested let me know.

Did mine a few weeks ago and have only had the chance for one small ride out. Easy upgrade and a cheap 2hp

I was able to take the bike for a good shake down on the weekend and going by the seat butt dyno the stick coils have certainly freshened the bike up. I would recommend this mod as it's a cheap upgrade and seems to work ok.

I just bought 2 CBR600 07 ones for $40 with the extra harness. Also have Iridium plugs to go in at the same time. Hope to do it without pulling the fairings. Think I can.
My little project for the weekend while my girl is in hospital.

All done now. Did it while waiting to hear how my girl got on in surgery. I dont hang around in there anymore, this is op #11.
Mod was easy and went very well. Simple job. Looks like the plugs in the bike were the originals. Very worn and an old part number. Easy to do without taking the fairings off.
Bike starts and idles much better now.

yeah it is an easy mod just need to be handy with the soldering iron and have a bit of time on your hands....not sure about the 2hp increase but you would need a real sensitive butt dyno to pick that change up on the street

there is no gain to be had on the upgrade in terms of HP you may only see more power if ur coils r already stuffed \\Stay Upright\\

Well holy crap. What a difference that made. Cold morning and the bike starts with no choke. Never done that before.
Runs so much better. More power everywhere. And smooth.
Thats was well worth doing.
Next is flywheel.

I'm happy with mine and really want to give it a good shake down but might be a while away yet.

I'm happy with mine and really want to give it a good shake down but might be a while away yet. To be fair the plugs I took out I think were original, as the old part number of the manual. And they were badly eroded. Very impressed with the power now. I may get the flywheel done as I will be off riding with surgery.

NZ, do the flywheel, it's a most worthy mod! Plan to but want to finish my KDX200 fork swap first. That will take a while.

Always something to do, here is my latest project! Resurrection of a neglected Tuono 1000R, 2007 model. Anyhoo, when you get a chance do the flywheel.
