Well my tyres are almost shagged so I'm after recommendations about a new set to get. Most of my riding is unfortunately a short in town commute, but I do like to get out into the hills every now and then. I spose I'm looking for a set of tyres with very good wear, good grip / feel and a reasonable price say $300 to $400 - the holy grail of tyres Current set are battlax bt021 which don't inspire much front end confidence IMO. Also, anyone heard of or used Wezmoto braided lines? Any good? Recommendations please

I lifted this from the Bandits forum about Wezmoto's ;
Well my brake lines from wezmoto arrived this morning all good and well packaged with an "idiot's" guide to bleeding the system once fitted
very well made all swaged fittings and an exact fit when overlaying them with the factory ones
I got black sleeves over the lines and stainless silver banjo's
I will put up photo's of the fitting over the weekend
The quality looks just as good as "HEL" or goodridge kits with all new stainless banjo bolts and copper washers in the bag
all landed to my door for $95 for all three lines ( 2 front and 1 rear )
This was Aug 2011. Was never any later replies as to how they went though!

Tyres mmm let me see Personal choice there are some really good ones & there are some crap So many differing factors, too many actually How hard you ride, riding style, where does it end One persons recommendation is another's failure I found as Bridgestone once they got down I lost confidence in them all in the series The mich. pilot power 2ct has been a good still I only get about 3-4 thou ks out of a rear However when they get down you can feel it slide yet still hold on so they are good however you can't get them now been replaced by pure & some have found they are inferior I have been told the metzler are really good & ill probably try them on my next change

Nothing wrong with HEL brake lines, they will be a good upgrade from the standard rubber lines.
As for tyres, I like black ones. Michelins on both bikes.

I too had no confidence in the front with any type of Bridgestones on. Had my best and fastest runs with Michelins (also had 2 crashes with them too but my fault, not theirs)

I have had most brands and models of tyres on my bikes and found the Michelin or Dunlops to give the most confidence. I currently run Dunlop Q2's on the Zed and love them to death, they could make me a poster boy if they like, but I also only getting around 4000 to 5000km from a rear. In reality I find that to be more than acceptable, considering the total faith they give me and they grip they offer wet or dry.
I ran the new Dunlop Roadsmart 2 on the rear of the big 1400GTR for the Albury trip last year, and without trying it came back with no chicken strips and no major wear after 2500km. Sold the bike with them on.
But the fallback tyre has always been the Michelin PR2. I would guess most people on this forum have run these and still do (or the PR3).

I have Michelin pr3 on front and rear of my vtr currently with 8000 km on them. They have been great,rear tyre has less than 1000 km left but I have given them a pretty hard time.

Has anyone used or is using Dunlop Q3's? Have heard they are much better than the Q2's but no real reports on them

Has anyone used or is using Dunlop Q3's? Have heard they are much better than the Q2's but no real reports on them I used them on my last bike. Firstly, they seem to have a taller profile than other similar tyres. That translated into greater lean angle before reaching the edge of the tyre and an overwhelming confidence on full lean. The first time I'd ridden on them was on a track day, scrubbed them in on the first few laps and then never thought about it for the rest of the day. They never faulted or broke traction, very predictable. I did two or three track days on that set of tyres and a handful of runs up the old PAC etc and loved them. I couldn't comment on tyre life or how they fare as they drop off toward the end of their life as the bike was sold with about 1500-2000km's on the tyres and they looked spectacular. I was only getting 4 or 5000kms tops out of its competitors and I'd be confident in saying you'd get at least that out of the Q3's. They're not touring tyres or built to do a lot of slabbing so I'd assume they'd wear a lot quicker in the middle doing so but will give great results in the good stuff. I just put the new s20 evo's on the VTR and I'm hoping for very similar results.
