Hi guys I am looking at a pair of rear sets for the bike and have come accross these at a good price. I can see two problems as there appears to be no position to attach the exhaust pipe mount as on the standard peg hangers and there is no return spring for the brake pedal. Has anyone had any experience with rear sets and can make any recommendations. Some of the spiel off the web site. "The newest generation of the Danmoto Billet Rearsets comes with a complete new design. All Parts are made from 6065T6 Billet aluminum, made on a precise 5 Axis CNC machine. The surface is hard anodized for a long life time and high wear resistance. The Rearsets have on both sides a carbon fiber heel guard. Real Carbon Fiber, no fake print/plastic! "

The other issue with rearsets is oftentimes they do not allow for a brake light switch either. you will need to do some work to make them fit.

Banjo bolt incorporating a pressure switch on top of Master cylinder is an easy option.

I have a set of Dan moto rear sets on the way.
I won't be fitting them until I have my modified swingarm ready.
There is a guy on the superhawk forum in the States about to fit some.
He posted photos and seems happy enough with them.
Only complaint was the heal guards.
Have a look, they seem to be value for money with plenty of adjustability at half the cost of better known brands.

If you're a big guy (or even an average size), don't do stand up wheelies using these. Even good quality rear sets can fail under load.
It's been proven!

My weight would be able to create that problem, lucky I cannot do stand up wheelies. Thanks for all the comments and I have just joined the Superhawk forum to follow the thread of the member that has just bought a set. Will let you know what I eventually do.

I bought a set of black ones, they arrived today after only seven days...... The finish seems to be pretty good, all moving parts work smoothly and without play. The Gear linkage is far more precise than the sloppy stock set up. They seem solid enough. I do not plan to be doing stand up wheelies, so they should do the job ok. The 6061 Billet Aluminium should do at least as good a job as the cast muckmetal ones that come stock. I'll certainly let everyone know if they fail... but I don't expect them to. Now.... if only I can get a couple of days off work to fit them, and maybe even a bit of dry weather to give them a test ride.........

I got mine today.
Happy with the quality, only concern is no tabs to secure link pipes to like on the originals.
Any suggestions how to overcome this?
Mine took about a week to get here after overcoming an issue with my Pay Pal account.

Make a spacer out of alloy ,shouldnt be to hard. Purchased a set of valley moto's rear sets off a member and had same prob, but he sent me a templete to cut didnt need them in the end, due to different pipes.

Mine were proper non adjustable race type Vortex. Broke clean off whilst hooking round t11 at about 90kph. Foot hit track and bounced up so hard and fast it broke hugger and tail piece. Also broke my tib and fib. Landing a power wheely the previous track day may have been the straw that broke the camels back but makes you realise the pegs are a pretty important part.

Mine arrived just over a week ago and I was going to fit them this week just gone, but it will now be a few months before I get a chance again. I have to wait for the five broken ribs to heal after high siding the baby VTR.

A guy on the American Forum reports that he is not happy with his set.
Seems he has some problems and need to modify them.
Also he has contacted Dan Moto and as yet has not heard back.
I am now a bit worried as it is no small matter to fit them as it is and if there are problems I will be pissed off.
Anyone fitted theirs yet?

Most rearsets need some small mods to fit perfect, not just the Chinese ones

Interested to see how these fit. I'm currently contemplating ordering a set of exhaust cans from them.

I had a set of their G.P pipes for a 2007 R1.
They were O.K for the price.
When I got the storm I almost bought another set but settled on Mussari low mounts which I am very happy with for the price.
I still haven't fitted my rear sets but intend to get around to it shortly when I get my swingarm sorted .
Has anyone fitted their rear sets yet?

Started to fit mine last week.......
Not real good...
The gear Linkage fitting rubs on the Swingarm.... A small Spacer or maybe grind a little bit off the linkage would fix it, but I would rather not have to do that. been doing so many extra shifts I haven't had any time to myself to either work on or ride the bike. it will probably be another week before i can even look at it to decide my next course of action.

Here is a copy of the email I sent to Danmoto and the reply. Spacers have not yet arrived, but mail to my neck of the woods can be a bit slow.
Hello,
i'm sorry for that.
We'll send you a set of the spacers ASAP.
Please note that you can already use the rearsets without. These spacers are only necessary for the very last row of adjustment. On the other positions, you won't need them.
With best regards Danmoto International

The spacers are required to ensure the pegs do not hit the bike’s swing arm, I have found through the USA Superhawk Forum that there should be 4 spacers and 4 longer mounting bolts. Can you please supply the required spacers to the same address as the original purchase. Thanks for your help and I look forward to receiving the spacers and bolts so I can complete the fitting of the rear sets to my bike.

I got the same answer, and am waiting for my spacers as well.
I hope the parts get here soon!!
I am getting my braced swing arm welded this Friday and want to fit the rear-sets at the same time as the swing arm.

O.K swinger is almost ready, have also purchased a hugger to go with it and all new bearings. I have painted it myself with black satin caliper paint and coated it with clear. Now for it to cure. Am waiting for the wife to go to work so I can put it in the oven! Hope it doesn't stink the house out! She has been looking at me a bit strange lately as I have been spending a lot of time in the man cave getting this right. I will post pics when it's on the bike.
