I have been looking at the shark 900c and find it very comfy. It's a few years old now but just means I get it for a far better price

Shark Speed R Series 2 bought a couple of weeks ago after 7 years with an Arai Vector (Yes Bowler, I finally got a new helmet). Fits like a glove with good materials, light, love the pop down sun visor, Sena SMH10R bluetooth setup went straight into it like a factory fit. Well, it is the same unit as the Sharktooth.
If I turn my head at a weird angle I also get a noise. It sounds for all the world like I am hitting my horn. But only at an unusual angle. Otherwise even quieter than my Arai, and I thought that was pretty good.
Sun visor for me was a must and I use it every ride. Used to run a tinted visor and have been caught a few times well into the night and cursing it. No longer a problem.

I now have Shark legion, Very comfy and quiet. I like the internal. drop down sunnies. +1 I have the same helmet myself, I have Iridium Chrome external Visor for daytime, with the internal sunnies its great on the brightest of days and no sunstrike issues and a Clear for night as well. I fitted a Midland BT City stereo Bluetooth to it as well speed sensing so increases volume with speed and the same Bluetooth in the wifes Shark s600 helmet, great intercom. I bought 2 for about $78 the pair delivered of ebay. They sell for $140 each elsewhere. Great fit for my head and comfy. I will be buying a new self tinting pinlock to fit inside the clear visor in the next couple of months, then no more fogging up on cold nights and mornings and no need to change visors for day or night Kev

On my second Shark vision-R. The series 2 is much better than the s1. I've got a pinlock visor a mate gave me a few weeks ago sitting here but haven't fitted it yet.

Sorry for the late reply. I can't compare my helmet to any other as I've only had the two.I was told/read when I bought the first one they are a quiet helmet. Wind noise starts to drown out the Staintunes at about 85-90. I wear ear plugs all the time anyway but notice wind noise worse on windy days compared to calm days. It also has provision for glasses and internal sun visor. On a side note, had the Pinlock visor installed for a few weeks and it is AWESOME. I can see fog all around the pinlock on cold mornings but have a clear view. Haven't tried it in the rain yet.

Fits like a glove Bloody hell , I already changed mine so it wasn't the same as yours , you shouldn't have bothered. So now you can keep the new one for twenty years or so. Fits like a glove eh , you must have giant hands too

I've got a shark evoline 3 modular helmet but it doesn't quite fit properly, get a bit of a headache after a long ride. Was okay when the padding was new but after a year of use its starting to get progressively worse. My heads too oval and presses at the front. The sun visor that pops down is great, but almost hits my nose and that worries me a little... Didn't really think this purchase through and in hindsight I realise my head isn't the right shape for most shark helmets, but I wanted a modular helmet for the summer commute to the city and the shoei neotec was nice but I didn't like that you couldn't ride with the chin up and the visor down. I think the shark is unique in this - the chin bar flips right round to the back and you can still use the visor. Before that I had a kabuto aeroblade 3, I still wear that commuting in the winter. It's a great helmet for the price, SUPER light and if you're not on a naked bike the wind noise isn't too bad. Only problem I've got with it is the visor has three notches or something - it goes closed, half open, wide open. The anti fog in it is shit, but it's pinlock acceptable so this is okay (if you've never used a pinlock insert, do yourself a favour. On the coldest mornings with me exhaling the entire contents of my lungs onto the visor repeatedly I literally CAN NOT fog it up. Whoever invented pinlock deserves millions.) but on more expensive helmets like shoei there's a few more notches before its wide open so on a hot day you can click it up a quarter inch and get some more air on your face. Also there's a bit of wind coming through the seals around the edge of the visor at speed (120+). Sort of a whirring, whistling noise at certain angles. Okay with earplugs but without it gets a bit much on a long ride. Can definitely see where the money goes in a shoei compared to this cheaper helmet. But it's still a good, reasonably priced midrange helmet that I've been wearing for two years without much issue... Just recently got a shoei gt air. $800. Ouch. But after an 8 hour ride the other day it just paid for itself. Quiet. Comfortable. Quality. I'll never not have a shoei on the shelf at home after this purchase. Thanks to your review I just bought a Kabuto Aeroblade 3, I especially like the low weight and high airflow. Fits my head firmly, yet comfortable. Glad to have this hemet as I wasn't ready to cough up the extra for a Shoei. Also the Kabuto has cutouts to accomodate glasses or sunnies.
