Righto, after a few beers and may dumb arse mistakes I've made while having one, I though I might ask the question if anyone has done something brain dead to there bike while on the soup? i cut down my air box cover not really thinking about what it would do to air/fuel mix. And have had to buy another air box lid. Then told my misses she knows nothing about bikes, and proved me wrong again. This was before I even though About researching it first.
cheers,
don't leave me hanging

Years ago when I was young and dumb I went to the pub and got smashed.
I then went to a party afterwards and got really hammered.
I had an RD350 .
The next morning being a Saturday I was woken up by my Dad and he said " Jesus mate you must have got on it , the room smells like a brewery. What's the story with your bike? It's lying on it's side on the front lawn and there's some lights on on the dash"
I must have been so drunk that I just hopped off and let it fall to the ground. Didn't remember a thing about how I got home,
Ah the good old days Eh?
Taught me a valuable lesson, bikes and piss don't mix. I will have 2 beers max if I am riding and that's it.
Also never undertake any mechanical/ mod work if I have had a few.
The few times I have done it over the years I always end up rechecking everything so may as well not do it.

I learnt my lesson a few times years back when I was doing enduros and mx events we would hit the turps every night before events.and here I would be cutting things off like a young Bruce Mclaren. The next day I would get back from a stage missing fairings and bits and bobs got to the point where people knew where it was coming from so they would come over that night while I was tinkering with the bike and I would bang it on again with the wrong screws only to have the same things happen again. And the circle would continue....

Recently a mate and I hit the cans early on a Saturday morning, rattle gun in hand, VTR on the bench... Few hours later the bike was in boxes. Worked out fine lol.
