Morning guys and gals . Its been some time since I've been on here since I sold the red beast 2 years ago . Did a stint with no bike for 12months which was rubbish so I've since gone out and bought a black bird which does the job albeit a lot quieter and more controlled kinda haha. I hope all is well with you all and I may see you out and about. I will endeavour to add some pics. Cheers chicko

Do you miss the storm or regret selling? I bought a Bandit 1250 naked as well to keep the storm company and found the whole IL4 thing a tad boring. Don't get me wrong, it had grunt to burn, but no character. I ended up selling it and keeping the 10 year older storm.

Sold the storm as I wasn't using it much, proved to be a lapse in better judgement. I totally agree the IL4 thing is fine and quicker straight line, but I feel it lacks character compared to the Vtwin. Anyways will hang onto the Bird for now and keep and eye for another good Storm haha.

Thanks binny yeah she's not a bad rig just shy of 100k now with no obvious issues typical honda tuff . Iv done about 15k so far and found it to be beautiful on a long trip. Also a lot of fun in 1st gear out of the corners in the twisties haha .

I was getting a gsx1400 but had a change in budget, i rode a vfr800, blackbird, zzr1200 and sp1 - bought my second storm. Would've loved the sp but not gor my commute and 1000k weekend rides. Something all round cool with the storms

hi chicko,i put 155000ks on my b/bird,so for starters get rid of the bank angle senses at the bottom of the foot pegs, because it can go all the way to the pegs and stay solid in corners.a female lexus driver killed it{b-arch},owned a storm blue ,trumpy 955 ,now riding the enemy ducati 996 ,but want another bird .live in werro where you at

Im hoping to track down my old red 98,fingers crossed haha.

Kiwi who is arranging this walcha ride? Would be good to have a few people up there. I have been tossing up a few dates but it seems it's a hard thing to get rolling but if you have a trip arranged it might help out a little

Stormer we were talking about it at the albury tt,and some of us who regularly show up and ride together,ie n.s.w oz firestormers meets vic stormers in the flesh. Walcha gave us a chance to catch up with qld stormers boys from moree,at one stage we had two from sa regulars, one came from wa,another flew down from Darwin to ride with his brother,so we're still keen

John , if you put up a date early enough in the Ride Announcements section for a weekend away in Walcha , you will get quite a few bites. We have always stayed at the caravan park or some at the New England pub (which has motel type rooms as well as pub rooms). We met on Friday night for some catchup beers and a feed , then Saturday was a ride to Wauchope (down the Oxley and back) then a barbecue dinner at the caravan park. Sunday was go home day. It was usually held somewhere around mid March till mid May (effing cold), and the only organising done was the buying of food for the bbq (the butcher in town was happy to supply as many snags as we wanted , with an hour or two notice). Everyone who went usually had a really good time , that's why it gets so many mentions. Just pick a date and stick with it - if you build it he will come :-)

Happy to put some dates forward but when it was mentioned last time there was an idea being thrown around about making it later due to the cold and ice on the roads. Just looking for the best time of year as I have never down this trip so if you guys can give me an idea of what would be best I will build it...

My thoughts. Either the weekend of Friday 1st of April or Friday 29th of April. Rules out all school and public holidays and Easter break , gets us there before it begins to totally freeze in May My preference is for the 1st of April. Start building Graham
