Don't know if this is classed as a mod. The old tank pad/protector was falling off so I decided to help it along. Now that it's off and all the sticky stuff is gone there is some hard black residue left behind where the edges of the sticker are. I've tried wd40. Eucalyptus oil and even petrol on the areas but nothing seems to make it budge. Any ideas? TIA

I'll give that a try. It's extremely hard. Like concrete. Pretty sure it's dried up polish

I've found kerosene works pretty well to get that stuff off. Extreme circumstances I've used acetone but you'd want to water it down and wash it off asap. I don't like thinners on the bike, kero is about as harsh as I'll go on the firestorm red...

Works a treat I would avoid the citrus cleaner I used it on the left over adhesive on my Harley and it took part of the clear coat off.....luckily its on an area that only shows in direct sunlight and if you're looking for it...

Tried everything mentioned here as well as some that weren't, nothing would shift it. Ended up using a razor blade to carefully scrape it off. Turns our that there were quite a few little dents in the tank under the pad so I ended up just buying another pad off of ebay and covered them up,now you can't even see it. Unfortunately I know it's there and it will bug me til I get it fixed. Daz Attachments:
