Yes please share your thoughts.
I have owned and worked on a lot of Ducs including bevel and belt.
Cheers
So when I purchased the bike my license was suspended (long story for another day) but that didn't matter as had to wait 6 weeks for delivery.
First time I rode one was that day!
Dealer experience was awesome.
Ride it from Canberra to Bowral taking it easy.
There's a 7k 'break in' period where you're not supposed to go over 7k rpm.
After that it can take a flogging.
And it did.
The bad things.
Heat on back of legs and seat is horrible if ambient temps are over 25 degrees and you're in traffic.
Seat is hard.
But it's a Supersport so comfort isn't a consideration.
It doesn't like going slow - nothing useful below 4500 rpm.
Service from dealer dwindled over time.
Although in their defense any time I complained they made amends.
The good.
It's no less comfortable than the VTR after I'd modded it.
The noises it makes.
The brakes.
Power delivery. Took a bit to get used to but 148hp from 900cc is great.
Handling. Exactly what you'd expect from a Ducati.
Running costs are same-same for a Jap of similar cost.
And 12k intervals possibly make it a tad cheaper.
Electronic aids are unobtrusive and yet functional.
It's saved me from a number of situations that on the VTR would have ended in tears.
Reliability is good bordering on great.
Only one warranty claim. $12 plus labor for the shift drum return spring.
Still getting over 7k out of a rear Tyre and I've stayed with the factory fit jobbies.
Honestly I'm happy to say it's the best bike I've ever ridden.
And at $22k ride away almost a bargain.
