I am on the South Coast of NS.W and am looking for a decent 19 Litre tank for a project.
Willing to pay a fair price, and as it's gunna be repainted scratches etc not a problem.
Small dents O.K depending on where they are but big ones are a no no !
Send me a message.
P.S I'm still looking for a decent rear shock !
Cheers

Hi Ken
Do you have a painter that can match the red on our bikes? I have a 19l tank that I need to have painted but have been told that the red is hard to match and seeing it's the tank I need to have it perfect otherwise it's going to be a full respray

Isn't there a colour code on the subframe for the "Italian red" that Honda used for the storm?

Quick search of vtr1000.org says it's Italian red, code R157. Not sure if this is helpful or not...

Yeah thanks mate. I have the code but have been told it's hard to match and there are different variants of this same code some being more orange than red

AFAIK the post 2000 update colours went to a multi layer arrangement which is why they are hard to match and look different colours in different light. My "blue" is actually a purple basecoat and the clear is tinted blue. The red and yellow have a similar thing, not sure about the others. The upside is that your pre 2001 red "should" be easier to match John. But that's why the 19L tank red doesn't match your bike.

I have been told Binny that the red from 97 have been tri colour. I hope you're right and it is that easy. Just don't want to have an orange tank
