Hi guys, About every month I decide I want to rip the fairing off the bike, jam a V-Rod light on the front and swap (or bring forward) the clocks. I've searched through a lot of forum threads but no one seems to have a clear account of how they actually went about replacing the front light and/or moving/swapping the clocks. I'm after this look (except I'll be fitting a Moriwaki belly pan): Any of you guys know what I could start? I want to keep the stock clipons. I just want to replace the front light and either move or swap the clocks so they don't stick out so much. Cheers, Macca

Just rip 'em off and throw 'em away! IMO the worst thing about a naked Storm is the side mounted radiators. If you're going to keep them, paint them black. That goes for anything you don't want to draw attention to. If you want to show it off, polish it! As for the clocks, if you can't place them where you're happy with them look at replacing them with a smaller digital dash. Acewell and Koso make good quality stuff. Fitting the headlight and the clocks will most likely require custom made brackets. Not many universal brackets will work or be what you want. In the end it will come down to how much you can do yourself vs how much you want to pay others for work done.

Yeah I think the issue will be mounting the dash. Headlight will be easy as I can use brackets on the forks.
Currently the dash mounting bracket is also the same bracket the front fairing + mirrors mount to; it's all one big, ugly piece.
I haven't yet been able to find a 'simple' dash swap for the storm. People have definitely done it but not many write about how and I can't be bothered messing around with wiring. I'm lazy and want an easy conversion :-D

I had an ace well on my Mitaros and it's good gear and you can make a bracket up fairly easily and cheap too. You can then run it the way you want to

When I first built The Thing I used the original clocks but had them mounted behind a big arsed headlight. When I re-did a few bits I went with an Acewell unit and a home made flat alloy number board with a Cyclops type headlight. All the brackets were home made. It just depends what you want and how much you can do yourself

There's a pretty sweet Acewell MD-085 circular (but all-digital) gauge that also has a gear indicator. I think I'll go with that!
Thanks for the input
