Hey guys riding across to Philip Island from Adelaide this year and want to install a usb charger to the bike for GPS. Just wondering where you guys have mounted your chargers. I'm trying to find an ideal place was thinking maybe the posts that the mirrors mount to?

Just on the side of the cluster would be great

I currently run mine under the seat but cannot run gps as the cable is too short. It's more for charging phones and cameras. On the dash would be the best option I think

I've got an isolation switch on the instrument cluster for my HID headlight (sometimes battery struggles to provide enough current to the light during start so I switch the light off, start the bike and then turn it on. Also handy for the track as I can just leave the light off), and a USB port integrated in my ram mount in the head stem. There's more than enough room on the instrument cluster for a USB port, especially if you haven't put anything else there like I have. Take the front fairing off so you can see under the dash, dremel out the hole you need (make sure you don't hit anything else with the dremel, thats why we took the dash off) and then clip your USB port in.
My HID is powered from a relay which is switched with the ignition, but the USB is direct to the battery. Wouldn't be hard to switch it with the relay but I prefer it always on, phones don't take much juice to charge. Just have to remember to unplug whatever I'm charging or powering, which isn't normally a problem as I take my phone with me when I get off the bike. Might be problematic for a mounted GPS.
I always wondered where I'd mount a GPS on the firestorm, there's no handlebar real estate. My first thought was to get some m6 threaded rod extenders to replace the nuts that hold the mirrors on, then use m6 screws to mount a base for the GPS into those extenders. Very interested to see what you come up with, let us know how you go.

Here is my dash with new guage faces and shift light inside Tacho, led bulbs and Double usb with voltmeter attached to top right with double sided tape. Usb is powered through a relay. Also my hardwired front and rear camera screen, that runs split screen or front or rear and records both regardless of what camera is on screen. The 2 red buttons on the yoke are remote for the cameras for instant photos. Kev

Thats a lot to look at, think I would take my eye off of the road too often looking at the camera screen. I do like the idea of having hardwired cameras though

Thems the ones ! Quality product, easy to fit as well. Really happy with mine, Tach was out a little at first but checked it with a hand held and just moved the needle. Speedo was out 5km so just used my speedodrd to fix it. Was easy job and great result. A bit of dremel work to get the shift light inside the tacho and all good.
