This year myself and Bowler will be joining the Scrapheap Adventure Ride to help raise funds for Down syndrome NSW. This year we'll be attempting to make it to Tingha for the annual get together. For those who haven't heard of the SAR, you need to get a bike for less than $1,000, get it going and registered, then get it to the meeting point which is a different place each year. Down Syndrome NSW isn't govt. funded and raises it's own funds. They provide support to families with kids and adults with Down Syndrome. Each year (this will be our 4th SAR) we have an absolute blast, the people involved are such lovely, friendly folk it's impossible to not enjoy yourself. If you've read this far then I'm guessing you might be able to chuck in a couple of dollars to help out. It all goes to DSNSW, we pay all our own bills to get involved. As it is a registered charity all donations are tax deductible (a receipt is issued straight away). You don't need to give your whole weeks beer budget, just a few dollars makes a real difference. It's really easy to donate, if you follow the link below you can use a credit card or Paypal. www.mycause.com.au/page/152077This year I'll be on my mighty Kawasaki ER5 Rally Edition (that I bought for $450) and Bowler will (hopefully) be on his $500 Suzuki XF650 Freewind (yeah I'd never heard of one either)

I looked into doing this ride earlier in the year, but unfortunately dates clashed with a family wedding. I've had a look at the facebook page, looks like alot of fun, I even had the missus nearly convinced to follow me up with the trailer before the wedding announcement! Good luck with the trip, maybe next year for me.......

Fantastic! (As usual) I didn't break my leg this year, which is a bonus! We all had a ball. As soon as I hear where we are off to next year I'll post it on here so you have time to plan/scheme or whatever it takes.
