Hello,
I really like the sound of the Staintunes with the silencers out. Just wondering how they compare in sound (volume and koolness) to debaffled Honda original cans.
And sorry of topic been covered before, had a quick look but couldn't find exactly this question.
Thanks! Andrew

There is no denying that Staintunes sound and look good but it comes at a price .
I have heard debaffled pipes that sound good as well. One drawback with the standards is their weight .
There are a myriad of options even though VTRs are not a current model.
Leo Vince , akras, yoshis , Moriwaki, et al.
Personally I would go with the Stainies if you have them or can find them at a decent price. I have had them on a couple of previous bikes and they are good.
Let us know how you go

Hey mate I have the staintune highrise pipes and love them. Have also heard the modded oem pipes and they do sound ok but only at certain revs and tend to be a bit all over the place when it comes to sound. They will get you out of trouble but I don't think you would be happy long term. As stated before they are way heavier as well....
There is a set of low level carbon Remus pipes on eBay at the moment for a great price of $350 from memory

Thanks heaps for the feedback.
Sounds like I'll give the debaffled originals a miss.
I'll check out those Remus too thanks. Good price!

I had debaffled originals when i got mine and it was pretty loud. As has been said the are heavy. I now have a Set of High Mount Jardine RT One Race cans on mine I got off ebay and they are awesome. Since fitting them Wife named the bike Quake as it shakes the house when running in the Garage. The Jardine Cans and links weigh less than one of the original cans by itself. The carbon Remus set John mentioned would be a great choice over Debaffled originals.

Thanks heaps for the replies. Given it heaps of thought and think I'll spend the extra and go the Staines. It's only money hey! I'll stick a pic up when I get em.

Have a think about what type of sound you like. The stainies sound great but have a loud metallic bark to them. Carbon or aluminum ones tend to have a deeper note without the rasp. Which sounds better depends on personal preference. All sound good though. What's not to like about a storm with pipes on it.

Just brought the Remus! I was over thinking it I reckon. The paradox of choice!
Like you've said, they are gonna sound good. Just different types of good.
Thanks for the replies, I'll get a pic up.

Where did you get the Remus from ?

I can understand your choice, the Staintunes are a crazy price for what you get !

Hi Kenmoore,
They are a low mount and off ebay.
Metro Motorcycle Wreckers in Sydney were the sellers.
I'm expecting the pipes to be a bit traumatised when I get them as they are coming off a teal bike. ha ha ha
