g'day all, finally back with a storm between me knees, had one for 4-5 years bout 7 years ago, had to sell it - minister of finance put the foot down, but am lucky enuff to be allowed to get another one (won't be getting sold this time round). Found an 03 model - black, down the road for the right price (good ol gumtree) and due to do rwc next week, and after that it'll be getting stuck into few mods, which this forum, from what I have seen so far will be an awesome resource. So I was going over it to make sure it's all good to pass (put standard pipes back on etc) and had to adjust idle - running to high, but once I got that right I thought I'd let it Idle away to see when the thermo fan kicks in - I let temp get to 101 before I shut if off, so my question is (hopefully someone here knows) what temp is the thermo fan meant to kick in? It's been to long to remember what temp me old storm used to kick the fan into action, or does the bike have to be actually moving for it to work? Thanks in advance if you have any info re the thermo fan cheers

Yeah everyone with the digital dash panics when it goes over 100 but it's normal. It actually covers it in the owners manual. As others have said the fan kicks in at around 102 -105. It starts to flash at 120 something. That's when you need to worry.

Yes around the 101-105 mark they should kick in but use a good coolant.
You can put a different thermo switch in which will set the fans off earlier or a Manual switch to turn the fans on as well
