For those who don't know, myself and Bowler raise money for Down syndrome NSW by entering the Scrapheap Adventure Ride each year. This will be our 5th ride and our enthusiasm for it is still just as strong. The premise behind the ride is you must get a bike worth less than $1,000, get it going, get it registered and join all the other nutters for a weekend of riding to well out of the way places. This years ride is to Pooncarie in western NSW. My bike this year is a Suzuki GS500 that I picked up on Grays online for $500. I've since spent a bit of time and money to turn it into the Adventure bike that Suzuki never made (but maybe should have). Bowler will be riding his Suzuki XF650 Freewind. It's basically a limited release model that has a DR650 engine and frame with some ugly plastics to make it a more road biased bike (sorry I don't have a pic of it to post here, but he may well be along soon to show you its hideousness). So to the point, as it is a registered charity any donation over $2 is tax deductible and if you feel that you may be in a position to chuck in a few dollars, it would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't have to be the whole months fuel budget, just a few dollars makes a difference and you will feel good all day knowing that you've done something nice. To help out just click on this link, it's easy and quick to do.Thanks www.mycause.com.au/page/172240/oldslow
