I have just purchased a '01 model with 62,000 klm's on the clock. The bike has been well looked after but the only issueI have with it is clutch adjustment. It engages at nearly full stroke. I've flushed the hydraulic through and added new fluid. I've heard other people have the same issue so could it bee plates or something else?

Welcome aboard. Bleeding the clutch can be a complete pain to get all the air out. Try tying the clutch lever on over night with a zip tie. Usually the last of the air will self bleed to the reservoir.

Sometimes clutch problems can be caused by the pushrod behind the slave being covered in junk from the chain.
Remove the slave and front sprocket cover and extract the pushrod.
Clean the rod and reinstall the way that it came out.
Refit cover and slave, bleed and test it out.
Things should be a bit smoother.
I have a Coerce sprocket cover and it helps to see what is going on.
