Hi guys...I understand that the 'revised' VTR from '01 onwards had some changes to the fork from the factory. Were these mods significant and did they result in a much better front fork? I am new to the VTR and am wondering if there are any mods that would improve the later model fork? What would be a good minimum mod?

The forks were the same all the way through. Best bang for you buck is get correct weight rated front Springs for your weight. There are options for valving if you want to get Racetech Gold valves etc. Racetech website has all the options listed and a good spring calculator that takes into account your riding style, ability, tyre type etc. There are internal modifications you can do yourself that are on this forum and a few others if you want. A fork brace makes a big difference if you are really leaning on it hard. Only problem is they are not cheap for one off the shelf that just bolts on ie: Coerce. I found on a forum years ago that a cb1300 (cant remember what year sorry)fork brace was same clamp size as VTR But the centre plate is too long. With an hour or so of filing I made one fit. Was about $45 off eBay when I did it.

Hi Kev and thanks for the reply. I'm not sure about linear springs...heard that a good set of progressive springs are a better option for general road/street use...don't need the absolute best result - just something that's a lot better than stock...any thoughts would be appreciated...cheers C
