G'day.
I have just joined the site, and before I start talking to people I need some help!
Is there any reference point I can go to to show me how everything works? There are so many do-hickeys and whatsits on all the pages, and I don't know what most of them are for. Ir would be good to know what each icon meant, and how to use it. It will be a lengthy process if I need to ask you questions about them all........
I have been looking at your site for a while as a guest, and enjoy it. Once I know what I am doing i will post a thread as a new member and let the gang know I exist.
Cheers, Shayne

Shayne, probably only a few things you can do here... a) the "help" button under the OZFS banner takes you to another forum and has some information about the features of proboards. b) just jump in and start hitting buttons!! You really can't break anything (famous last words..) c) if you get stuck or need a quick explanation, post a specific question. Like all good things, there are hundreds of features in these boards which you end up using about 3!! Welcome, post up in the new stormers section and give us some info about yourself

Start off & just use the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the screen... when you get the hang of that, hit "Reply" at the end of a thread that interests you & you can use it in much the same way as the quick reply box, except you can add "emoticons" to your reply. Then, as Ashes said, just muck around...if you F*@k up, you can always hit Modify & have another go!!!
Thanks for joining, there are no stupid questions here!!!!!

Righto I have been having a go. Mostly all good. My problem is keeping track of any threads I have posted replies in, to see if anyone asks me a question or calls me a numnuts! ;D
I have been looking at the last 20 threads, however what I have been following can disappear off this list pretty quick. I have also been looking at the main page on the right hand side for futher comment in a particular section. once again this can disappear if someone starts a new thread.
I have been caught out a couple of times already and have lost threads I was following. I received a welcome from a Brisbane member and then I asked where they were as we appear to be close, however I do not know whether they replied or not.
I have seen the bookmark button and clicked on that a couple of times but I dunno what it does! I also read you can get emails to avise you of responses also.
What is the best way to keep track of threads you have replied to?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers, Shayne

Hi Shayne, have a bit of a play around, it seems difficult at first, but gets easier as you go. If you want to reply to something, click on "quick reply" until you get the hang of it, and write want you want to write in the box at the bottom of the page, then press send or post or whatever it says. Just keep an eye on the right hand side of "threads" to see who has added the last post and if it's not you, then you know someone has added to it. Keep trying it gets easier

Thanks Sandra.
So what does the bookmark do, and how does it work?
And can you get emails sent in regards to certain threads?
