Well done! You have any trouble getting it?
And lastly will this affect the web searches? Would be great to get on the first page when you search "Firestorm" or "vtr1000F" in australia.

Hey Saz no probs getting it apart from having to set up an ABN with the name Ozfirestorm as the business name component and register the business name in Vic...........all up about $135 inc domain for 2 years and business registration for 3. So for all in tents and porpoises Ozfirestorm is now a business Not sure what the deal is with the search..guess only time will tell.

Welcome to the wonderful world of BAS statements and other Govt related fun. At least now you should be able to claim all of your motorcycle related expenditures as tax write-offs. ;D

Not sure what the deal is with the search..guess only time will tell. Andy, Best thing to do if we want to "up" our rankings in a google search is to populate metdata on the home page. Not sure what proboards allows you to do in regards to modifying the source of the pages though. Let me know if you want to persue this further and I am more than happy to help out.

I seriously doubt that Proboards would allow us to muck around the code. I would suggest the best way to have a legitimate home page would be to author one ourselves and keep REALLY at www.ozfirestorm.com.au Then on this page have a button that says something like "click here for the forums" and that would then take you to ProBoards. What to put on the home page? Well I guess we could put some FAQs, Pictures etc. Who is going to do it? Not me I'm afraid. I can help out with graphics but IT isn't my beat. How much space would be needed? I'd imagine only 10-100 meg should do it. Where would it be? You would need to find a host for the space. There are lots around that are quite cheap. kangaweb.com/ www.hostexcellence.com/products.php www.mdwebhosting.com.au/webhosting/ just to list a few.

I am happy to make the page up with your help Seanus... I am not that good with the graphics side of things but I can handle the web page stuff. As for space... Depends what funds we could get for the hosting. If we can afford enough space, I could write a page that allowed image and file upload. It isn't that important though i spose.

Same sort of thing as Netrider 'eh Seanus? Yes but probably not as much detail as they have. But I guess we could include some features like NEWS, EBAY search for Firestorm Stuff, Pictures and Movies. If we did have some space then we could ditch PictureTrail and use our own space.

The sonicclick one looks the goods. Unlimited mySQL databases so we could host the whole site in the future if we wanted to and we could create some other interactive pages like the photo uploader and such too.
Do we think that an annual fund raiser in each state should be organised to help raise funds for this stuff? I dunno who is planning on paying it but it's hardly fair that one or two people pay for it.

If we start allowing picture uploads and stuff, the space will dwindle away pretty quickly. If it is just for hosting a front page and maybe moving from proboards to our own then it should be plenty i would reckon. Can we get any statistics from ProBoards to see what our usage is like at the moment? Things like size used, bandwidth used etc etc might help us make a bit of a capacity plan for the future.

Yeah best we keep with them. We could approach them about getting a copy of the database but it might be in the too hard basket. If we don't do that, i would think that 250MB would be plenty. Most web pages are less than 1MB.

Yeah I can help out with the page. Might need Mr Avatar's help with some graphics and stuff. It's up to you who you want to go with, I think that ClickWhateverTheirCalled is a reasonable deal unless anyone else can spot any fault with it.

Ok so I handed in my resignation at work on Monday so I have lost all desire to actually do anything and thought I would start throwing some ideas about for our possible "Home Page". A few features that I think would be good to be rewritten and removed from the forums would be: - Ride Events - This would allow us to have a snapshot of what rides are coming up as in the below screen shot
- News - We could allow people to submit "news worthy" articles and they would be presented on the home page
Yes I know it looks like I am replicating Netrider, but I have just stolen a few ideas off them. I think if we brainstormed this we could make a much better site than them
