You know...after reading a lot about how "indestructable" those CBR250RRs were, your the second person I know of that has has problems with them. I had a mate that went through 3 motors in 6 months...

Yeah i bent 2 conrod's at different times and then put a conrod through the block, needless to say that was the end of that motor then i got a secondhand motor from the wreckers, whacked that in and i've done about 6,000 trouble free k's since. i've still got it though as it is a fun little bike in traffic and really twisty stuff.

Woah, Brad, you're a lucky fellow... I'll say. The snapped conrod on the ZZR was due to me thrashing it for about four hours, not knowing I had a oil leak. Ran it dry. I was coming down the "big dipper" on Dayboro Rd at 180+, heard a few disturbing noises coming from the engine...and luckily pulled the clutch just before the rod snapped. Pushed it 4k's in 32 degree heat to a friends house. On the GPZ I managed to T-bone a car. I did a full somersault over the car in about half a second. Pushed the front right wheel on the car about 4 inches towards the engine. The bike was a write-off. I had a 3 year absence from riding due to injurys, no money for a new ride. Bought the VTR new last year and I'm loving it. I'm a tad more carefull of my machine and the road now.

Here goes. Early 70's Mini bike, auto shit heap wanted something faster Yamaha DT 175 j, still wanted something faster Suzuki RM 80 xd, 6th gear monos now I'm happy Suzuki RM 125 c, chook chaser Yamaha IT 175 j, bush basher Yamaha YZ 250l, rip a 15 year olds arms out of his sockets, fark it was fun Suzuki TS 250 xe, killed its suspension Yamaha IT 465 h, vibrations like an out of control vibrator Yamaha IT 250 l, had three of these enduro weapons great bikes but they needed disc brakes, very hairy on huge downhills with bugger all brakes Kawazaki KX 500 83 Model, needed another gear but still fast Yamaha IT 490 k, with a disc front but still big vibrations break out the loctite Honda ATC 250 r 3 wheeler, fun watching mates trying to steer an ex racing trike, many injuries to mates call me a sadist but I told them to be careful Yamaha YZ 125 95 model, good chook chaser KTM 520 exc 2002, stopped piss farting around with japanese dirt bikes after a break of about 10 years with no dirt squirts.should have traded in the crazy women I was shacked up with. Growing up riding bikes with your mates you later realise thats when you have the biggest laughs watching everyone's antics on all sorts of bikes in all sorts of situations. Now for the bitumen burners.I all ways used to scab rides off the older blokes roadies when I was younger, more interested in dirt bikes. Suzuki RG 250 wd, commuting crap, all the write ups were lies After 4 learners permits and 4 extensions I finally got my licence then bought this of a mate. Kawazaki GPZ 600r 1986 model, had to replace front and rear wheel bearings, linkage bushes, headstem bearings, tyres & bent handlebars It was a wonder how my mate didn't kill himself on it,went fast and handled a lot better after I fixed it up,and he used to wonder why it tank slapped Honda 1998 VTR 1000 bought last year 16,000.00 k's and many more to come. But I wan't to buy a slapper for track days.
