You guys to be fairly well informed about the VTR1000’s, and I have question that not many people have thought about. I was looking for an exhaust mod that is a little different to what everyone else has and a mate suggested going to a single can. I mentioned it to a bike shop guy and he was like ‘why? You lose the thump sound!’ is this true? [glow=blue,2,300] [/glow] I was thinking something looking like what Colin Edwards ran with in WSB? Any ideas / suggestions?

it changes the exhaust tone and the thump but it is still there but just not with the same effect .Some people will say that you lose top end power but I dont think that it will be a big problem as the standard systems dont flow all that well and when you get a custom system most are a little larger and free flowing bends will help (pull ya cans off and have a look into the y section ) Are you thinking of doing a underseat pipe or 1 on the side ?
this system is fairly loud and didnt have the deep thump of a twin system (I didnt really like it )

That's one thing that irks me about most aftermarket underseat exhausts. They LOOK as though they've been whacked on as an afterthought. That pic of the Yoshi pipe you posted for example, it appears squeezed in there and looks all wrong with the rear bodywork and tail-lights.

i was thinking something off the side as i am not really a fan of the under tail look. www.superbike.it/mostra_immagine.asp?id=54somthing like this but on the right side. i am thinking (cause i am cheap) that this could/should be cheaper than a two can setup?

These are my pipes......... I'm still trying to work out whether they class as high-mounts or undertail. I'd call 'em "High Tails"! They are certainly gorgeous pipes. And they have a sweet note as well. I should know! (I spent enough time behind them when we did the spurs )
