So I was thinking this morning - a couple of the things this awesome site suffers from are a) difficulty in finding the really good nuggets of information, and b) a a result, the same questions are asked over and over again. (For the record, this isn't meant a criticism of either the site or the people asking the questions - it's simply an inevitable result of the "forum" format). At the last couple of places I've worked, we've used a wiki system to great effect for sharing and recording group knowledge. (For those that aren't familiar with it, a wiki is a set of web pages that anyone can edit - wikipedia being by far the biggest example). It seems that things like tech specs, mod "howtos", lists of local rides etc could be recorded to great effect on such a site. At the moment they tend to get lost in the piles of general chat threads (which is what a forum system is really good at). Is it something anyone would be interested in looking at? I'd be happy to manage the technical side of things if there was enough interest (not sure about hosting etc, but I'm sure the traffic would be low enough that we could sort something out). Just a thought

We have the Archive to keep reference material in. But it doesn't seem to get used much at the moment. Maybe we could be more diligent with it.

Sounds reasonable. The archive is good but you still need to trawl through irrelevant replies or 3/4 people saying the same thing.
A wiki would create a one stop shop amalagamating the forums knowledge. By linking back to the forum may also attract new members. I know when I'm googling I'll sometime avoid forum links as you often get a lot of crap with the small gem of info.

It's a great idea. And this thread is a classic example of why it's needed. eh bro! ProBoards is rock solid but very behind the times when it comes to cool And useful features.
