Hey Vtr'ers,
i saw a red vtr on the way home to Ippy the other night (plate [glow=red,2,300]HRC97[/glow], is that anyone here?) which had the small light above the headlight coloured red to match the body. has anybody done this to their bike? is it just colouring the lens or replacing the bulb with a coloured one (or leds)?
i thought it looked okay ;D

Yeah just change the plug bulb which is the parking light. Had a blue one on my yellow VTR and it looked cool. Not legal but niether were the pipes or the rear gaurd etc etc etc Stew

I think from memory of a conversation that my bro and I had once (he's a vic copper) that you are allowed to have any colour but red there as that indicates a leading vehicle, not an oncoming one.

yeh, i got some led running lights! ED-76 on oroadsports.com organised a group buy of the led running lights from a bloke (probably through ebay)... they worked out to cost about $7 each i think... quite a few colours available, i ended up getting 2x black lights (purple ultraviolet looking, lights up white clothes like in a night club), 2x super white ones and a green one.... i came home, put in the green one... took the rest upstairs ... then later that evening the box they were all in fell down about 10cm... all the led ones survived.. the original died (i.e. led running lights are robust, not that running lights die very often anyway)... anyway, i then took the green one out and tried out the black light for a while... a couple of months later, pulled over for a breath test, ... after the test, riding off one of the cops yelled out, get rid of that blue light... off i went, wondering if the cop was colour blind .... well... they look at blue lights all the time... anyway... as a precaution, not to be a target during double points i took it out and put the super white led in... btw... they are much brighter than original running bulb and look very good
