As more assessments are nearing their due dates, and exams keep getting closer, my bed-time gets later and later... Wouldn't be so bad if i didn't start work at 0600... haha

Ahhhh...... nightshifts, gotta luv em 3 down & 4 more to go. Bloody difiicult to sleep during the day in Karratha, it's getting hot again at least the one good thing about nights is that the bloody flies aren't about. They make an appearance at about 5am and start pestering the life out of you.

I don't think i would own a road bike even if i did live here. Can you imagine wearing leathers in 45 degree heat while going in a perfectly straight line everywhere??..........sweaty FIFO and lovin' it

Back on Night Shifts after a months Holiday..... I finally got to investigate some of Tassie's West Coast Roads after a day ride from Hobart to Devonport..... via Queenstown, Strahan and Burnie. I cannot tell you guys how much you have to this ride when you visit Tasmania. The road to Queenstown had me rolling from one side to the other with barely a section of straight road for about 2 hours...... A group of Novacastrian Harley riders I met when i stopped for fuel and the perfect Coffee at Derwent Bridge were complaining that the bends were making hard work out of riding. When I went home, the normally pleasantly winding Lake Leake and East Coast roads seemed straight by comparison. The west coast is wet for a lot of the year, so pick your time..... it rains in Strahan 300 days a year.November to Feb is your best bet... Like I said, back at work....... and planning the next one..... the boss says he wants to come along next time..........

No amount of adjectives or superlatives can adequately describe the wonder that is the west coast of my beloved Tasmania, many fantastic memories of some great trips (on 2 wheels and 4) through the west and Cradle Mountain. Its a must do...in fact there are a couple of OZFSers lurking around the Strahan area as we speak.

What has happened to all the Night Shifters.... no post in months.......are we all still here? Sorry I haven't been around much, I had a bloody great Tumour removed from the top of my head a while back and haven't been able to wear a helmet. Kinda didn't want to read too much bike related stuff 'cos it was too frustrating. But all's good now, and I'm back on he road with a couple of short rides between rainy days. Looking forward to summer, and maybe another trip west
