The header pipes I used wet and dry sand paper grades 400-1200 to take of all the build up then steel wool to take off all the rough bits. The a small power drill with a polishing kit I bought from super cheap with the 3 polishing wheels and cream sticks. And when they were at the stage of finished which took forever I rub them back with good quality turps to remove all the residue. all up around 20 hours plus work.

Forgot to mention....the forks I used a good quality etch primer after a real good clean and then a good quality satin black spray auto paint. It's all in the prep though if you want a good result.

The rear seat cowl, tinted screen and the cans would make a massive difference to the looks over a standard bike. I know that very good man your talking about, very nice guy! are you getting the rear shock sorted as well or just the forks?

Hmm let's see. In the last couple of weekends I have - - bled the brakes and clutch, - opened up the airbox to check the filter. Turns out it has a DNA filter, Score! So I cleaned it and 're-fitted. - Put the gianelli cans back on. Couldn't stand the sound of the stockers! - checked inside the collector while I had the RH muffler off. It's been opened up already, Score! A neater job than I did on the old storm too. - hand polished the shiny bits like the mufflers.
To Do (in no particular order)-
- Oil and filter - Get a power drill polishing kit and do all the shiny bits properly. It has already had quite a bit polished in the past like pillion brackets, heel guards, frame etc but could do with a freshen up. - new CCTs as a precaution - Rear shock spacer - Take it to Ozzy's for a dyno run to check AFR's. It feels in the ball park but doesn't hurt to check. - down a tooth on the front sprocket. I forgot how tall these things are geared. My striple could pull well in 6th from 70km/h. I'm finding myself having two use 2 gears lower for the storm in most situations.

How do you find the thumb screws easy to operate when the engine is hot?

How do you find the thumb screws easy to operate when the engine is hot? Yes, it doesnt get that hot under there. I will do the set to highest RPM tomorrow. Bikes running way better. No carb farts.

I was wondering if there is enough room in there to operate correctly. Thought it may have been a bit of a squeeze?

We did have a look at these earlier this year but I think most of us thought it was too tight to be worth it...but if it works for you then it might work for others as well.

Photos of the fuel screws. Not the easiest to get to but not bad. I plan on moving the catch bottle down to the bottom of the fairing so i can do track side jet changes. And one of the bike with the new tank pads on. They are very grippy.

Spokes,
Where did you get the fuel screws from? What are they originally for?
I've been using the Motion Pro tool but its pain to use, even after removing the excess metal under the water fitting bolt that gets in the road.
I removed the overflow bottle from where it was sitting too.

I'm running a single custom Thermae rad and have to run a larger overflow, consequently its now wedged in between the front cylinder head and the rad hose from the water pump.
I'm going to post the Motion Pro tool for sale now and get the thumbscrews.

Put that little brass nipple in the front cylinder head to fit some hose. "Teed" off the existing vacuum hose - to balance the carbs. Wow, even with the airbox off its a PITA to get in and tighten that little brass bastard to any degree. I just put some gasket crap on the thread and tightened it up best I could. Then made a ball bearing "comparator" guage with some tubing and a couple of ball bearings from my old busted ass beach basher Kmart pushie front wheel.(Knew I kept it around for a reason) While I had the airbox out, thought I'd clean the the K&N.....then it dawned on me where the oil in the airbox was coming from. DOH! Then took it out for a flog. Does it go any better? Hmmmm Maybe. I think the overrun burble is sweeter and that's important!
