Updated from my original post in 2006 -
'87 Yamaha XT250 for L's - plenty of stacks bush bashing this one
'89 Yamaha RZ250 2 stroke - P's Lots of fun, tried to kill me on numerous occasions though without success.
'88 Kawasaki ZX10 - Previous model to ZZR1100. Sold it with 125,000 on the clock. Was still going strong
Spent 2.5 years without a bike, kicking myself for selling, then bought another
'88 Kawasaki ZX10 - Wasn't specifically looking for another one, was just best value for money at the time only 32,000ks
'01 VTR1000f - Yellow - Why we are all here. And lovin it!!
'05 Kawasaki Z750 '10 Triumph Street Triple '01 VTR1000F - Blue
Wifey's bikes
'94 Yamaha - SRV250 '05 Kawasaki ER-5 She got pregnant within months of getting each bike so I banned her after that!

Winding out 2nd gear you had a sort of warp factor 9 blur going on where your brain couldn't keep up. I've never tried a Busa or ZX-14 but they must be insane. I sit here and think of the speed I used to get up to on them, "shudders" My risk appetite was a lot higher back then.

98( ) CBR250RR 06 Daytona 675 03 YZF-R1 08 Honda CT-110 03 VTR1000 you might think the CT-110 looks a tad odd. The R1 was written off, not my fault, and I just needed another bike to hold me over until I left for overseas. Doesn't mean it wasn't awesome though!

Might add my 2 cents in Only had my licence since the start of 2013 where I bought my first ever bike 2007 GPX 250 classic black green and silver, I wore out the tyres on that in 6 months I done 14,000 ks and sold it for a $900 dollar profit Whilst still on my restricted licence I wanted to upgrade before race school with cam donald here in tassie so I then got a 2007 hyosung GT650R that had the balls worked out of it ! Topped out at 235 with a back pack on , massive vtwin torque (for a lams 650 and a 250kg bike) 0-100 in under 4 seconds and with the staintune pipe and little other goodies and tune done :3 kasploosh it sounded good. Was the fastest lams bike I came across. Even broke the high 7 second 1/8th mile mark at the local drag way (first wheel stand too haha) I then dropped it and broke my pelvis, missed the race school, fixed it, done another track day then broke my femur (brittle bones). So I swapped the the 650 for my next vtwin 1995 kawasaki vulcan 800a (rare as a unicorn shitting rocking horse poop whilst being ridden by a lepricorn sneezing raindows) That was rebuilt, bored out to 900 , worked, custom air brushing paintwork was truely gorgeous and one of a kind so when my femur was better a few months later I was able to swing my leg over the big bitch and I didnt really like it. Rode it about 5 times , with cobra pipes and tuned perfectly the vtwin roared and sounded mint and was actually pretty quick for a mid size bore cruiser I then swapped that bike for my current bike (that I got to ride for 2km before it broke down 200ks from home) 2001 VTR1000 classic yellow and only 32,000 on the clock dunlop q3 tyres, new chain and sprockets, now has a partial rebuild (piston tops, rings, chrome bores, valves everything looked like brand new when the block was stripped down ) But the whole in the side of the crank case tat was puttied up and painted over created a loss of pressure and caused bike to shut down untill it cooled down again which was every 5 minutes ... so I got a tow truck home Someone had pulled the block apart to replace the water pump propeller shaft (incredibly thin for those that dont know) and when putting it back together one of the dowels were not lined up and when they tried to tighten it back down. Bang goes the case where the clutch is So its now got new bearings new propshaft bearing (that was chewed out due to not replacing it the first time) New clutch (the springs in the basket were loose and causing the rattling broken sound) cleaned polished and freshened up internals the acct hasnt moved from factory position , timing chain is perfect So once its back together it will be having a vaccuum tune to get it running right through out the revs with stock jets and stock pipes (Going to lose money if I get after market pipes and get it rejetted, k/n airfilter and dynoed) plus dont have the money to spend atm So thats my long winded list over the last 2 amazing years, 10 track days, 25000ks , 4 bikes and 2 broken bones (making 30 total) and im only 21 haha

dwc,
Treat the VTR with respect!
They are deceptively lazy and quick.
Welcome to the club.
Enjoy

Now that you have a better looking and sounding bike than them, you'd be sick of showing them up!
