Next piece of the jigsaw is on its way..Thanks eBay Cool good find! Hope the bikes still on the stand ok! gordy. well Gordo, the head stem is finally finished and all back together. only prob now is the rad hits the lower yoke(or ummm vice versa lol ) cause its 3 times thicker lol, so off it come and the "stands" have been revised lol. I have an axle on its way from the USA and a wheel on its way from VIC (plus a shit load of other goodies you'll have to wait to see) so wont be long and she'll be sitting back down how mr Honda intended her.. i also got a length of braided hose and some sexy clamps to make some new rad hoses (when re mounted) and a new throttle tube...anyway enough jibbering on.. there will be a BIG update on the KILRV real soon....

Looking sexy! Can't wait to see this bike done.. or at least back on the road. I've really gotta pull my finger out and sort out my front-rad-conversion soon.. it's just daunting for mechanically-inept people like myself

Looking forward to seeing that sucker finished i knew they had an Aus branch but wasnt quite sure if they were an Aus company... oh and FYI the pipes on there site for the VTR dont exist! i called the other day to order the 350mm titanium set...never actually made the production line but somehow made the website... cheers on the front end, was a pain to get to fit right but well worth it i think... Just another quick update... Arrived home to some goodies today... And after some playing around.... Only problem i have is the bolts that come with the risers are way to long and about 2/3 lock they hit on the frame..so shorter bolts need to be sourced.. Not to bad at all, sitting on the bike (although not level) felt good, cant wait to get the wheels finished and back under for a proper sit! more to come......

Mark them with a texta and cut them. Easy fix.
Looks good mate - will be better with a front wheel though.
Seeing as we are coming into winter have you thought about a couple of Ski's up front and a studded tire at the back?

Get the right length/diameter bolts with a hex head. Make 'em square with a grinder. Job done!!!! Russ

Yeah spot on Russ, only prob is they have round heads so may have to grind down? Calipers turned up today so with no further delay they were cleaned and bolted up...Slowly but surely coming together....

You should remove the bearings before powdercoating, as the heat will make the grease run and ruin the job, and will damage the seals anyway.

Looking awesome with the front end on.. not a fan of those headlight though, but that's just personal taste.. all those Acerbis/MX-style masks just look "cheap" to me.. and bike-porn such as this bike deserves something worthy

Today was a fairly productive day...On my list for today was: Drill the bars for the locator tabs on the throttle and switchgear. Fit new throttle tube. shorten wiring harness to suit front end.. Re-wind harness right back to sub frame. Extend ignition and HISS wiring to sub frame. so it began..with all necessary tools on hand (including bourbon) i measured, marked, centre punched and drilled the two holes needed for the throttle and r/h switch gear locating lugs. This was a fairly simple process (after quadripple checking my measurements and marks lol) Please note: No bourbon was consumed while using power tools or measuring equipment To my relief this went well, so next step was to get a bourbon, then start chopping the wiring. Being colourblind this posed as a threat, so one by one the wires were cut, shortened, soldered and heat shrunk. This (IMHO) came out way neater than it was standard! It was again a simple job but very time consuming. After re taping it, it was much neater and much tighter than before.. And the finish product, alot neater and very easy to hide and only took about 5 hrs to do. I even managed to re mount the horn. The amount of work and time put into the wiring these pics dont do it justice.. Now to get that undertray i want and do the rear section of wiring (and find a place for the ignition and HISS And after all finished and mess cleaned up....front end is getting close to being done!! ;D on another note i have decided to source a new headlight, what...im not sure yet but it will need to have some size to hide the wiring/horn etc so Dominators unfortunately are out..

I am not really a fan of streetfighters. I appreciate good work though, so I am following your build with some interest. Very pleased you are getting rid of that dodgy headlight!!!! I know that kind of thing is popular on fighters, but I don't think it looked right. How about something similar to the Z1000?? As for a painter, I think Snowcone has used a bloke that was well priced and he was happy with. Fathead is another bloke that has had a respray done in your area too. They should be able to give you a recommendation.
