Hey VTRfighter, loving the build. I miss mine. I been on the road for a bit and will remain so for a while. Cant wait to get back home and crack on with mine. Your USD conversion is tops too... I like. The USD is a much better design. should improve the handling dramatically. Keep up the good work!

"Forks are topping the list, i really need to know if there bent or not..."
You can strip them and have them checked and I do but I've been known to cheat a bit. Just as a quick check mind
Center support the bike. Decent centre support or the whole bike wobbles! Remove the front wheel Replace the front axle (leave the clamp bolts loose) Remove clip on Loosen one forks triples until you can rotate the chromed bit If you watch the bottom of the fork it will "wriggle" if bent as you rotate the fork tube.
Yeah it's a bit approximate and relies on a straight front axle that fits nice but the method works
Fork oil levels and squareness really matter. A small difference in oil matters especially at full shock compression. The air space in forks is a spring with a dynamic rate that bends front axles fork bearings, triples and steering heads.
Research and cleanliness.
As for what to do next? writing a to do list! forgetting the sump bung is really dumb

Time and money are big factors in a bike build for sure. Time can sure pass by quickly when you start projects, as things take longer and cost more than planned.
Having said that, my latest project (EFI conversion) moved along quite nicely until I sold my shed. That stuffed it though.

Too right about the time factor Shayne...I have all the bits done for my storm and all thats required is reassembly....too bad work gets in the way!

Have you managed a successful single radiator conversion? I have scoured the net looking for a suitable radiator but don't seem to be able to get confirmation. Have been told SV1000 or SV650 "might" work. Living in Qld so need to get something that will not lead to overheating. I bought the bike cheap and am keen to go Streetfighter or Cafe' Race but have not got a big budget. Might endup going back to stock with ebay plastics is I cannot get a radiator sorted out. Please: any help from somebody who has info would be great. ?

HaHa Nudie....the sv1000 and sv 650 might fit with mods.i had a custom one on mine ,but due to a unforseen accident ,it got busted up .To replace was $800 ,so i went for a cbr250, outlets were the same as the old one just smaller .Had no problems with it, but it was getting hotter quicker,so hit ebay again .was going to go sv but found the er650 kawasaki was very close. All i had to do was to make the btm R/H outlet straight instead of it curved, but you might not have to do this ,due to the hose i had, was to go straight up into the outlet.New Rad was $90 ,and yes it was made in china, thats why i bought 2.But better check for distance ie btm of rad wont hit your front guard, because i have a ducati frontend on mine and it just clears.
